Atelier Oï thinks of the Ruckstuhl carpet binding collection Bordo in a different way. The play of different techniques, such as folding, weaving, overlapping and stiching forms the basis for a floor textiles installation that succeeds in being experimental and poetic at the same time.
Exhibition «The Slough, and other domestic digressions» at Mouvements Modernes, Paris
For their first parisian exhibition, Swiss-based Atelier Oï design and architecture practice has chosen Mouvements Modernes to present new limited edition projects and pieces. For this show called «The Slough, and other domestic digressions», the three Swiss architects-designers have been inspired by their favourite themes: the boundaries and limits between creation fields, the notion of fluidity in concepts and forms, and experimentation as a natural use. This exhibition is also the occasion to announce the opening in Neuveville (Switzerland), on September 25th 2009, of the «Moïtel», a 60s motel turned into an architectural/design agency. A new kind of place to share and to experiment.

About Atelier Oï
The tr(oi)ka was founded by Aurel Aebi (1966), Armand Louis (1966) and Patrick Reymond (1962) in La Neuveville, Switzerland, in 1991 under the label Atelier Oï. The main elements that characterise the atelier’s philosophy and work most probably consist of its multidisciplinary nature, the team (not a one-man show), and the atelier’s direct relationship with the material from integrated creation to agency. Orders come from the fields of architecture, design and scenography, and, most frequently, from between these different disciplines.
Projects include developments for Ikea, Wogg, Roethlisberger, Dietiker, Swatch, B&B Italia, Foscarini, Louis Vuitton and Bulgari. Invited to various design schools in Switzerland and abroad, they hold a teaching position in the design department of Ecal (University of Art and Design Lausanne, Switzerland).
