Ruckstuhl is pleased to announce the successful usage of multiple Ruckstuhl carpets within the Novartis Campus in Basel, Switzerland.

Art Chicago, the international fair of contemporary and modern art, sets the stage for excellence with a Buckminster Fuller, 24’ original Fly’s Eye dome erected in The Merchandise Mart’s grand South Lobby. The installation is sponsored by Vitra in cooperation with Artemide and Ruckstuhl.

Beyond Nostalgia vignette with Ruckstuhl Feltro color

Unveiling the first of in a series of collaborative relationships with educational institutions, Vitra teamed with Parsons the New School for Design on a student design competition, which was the talk of ICFF when it debuted at the company’s New York showroom during the fair.

In Renens, an industrial suburb of the Swiss city of Lausanne, architect Bernard Tschumi has transformed a former stocking factory into a design academy. The new Ecole contonal d’art de Lausanne (ECAL), under the direction of Pierre Keller, is now a 14,000-square-meter (151,000-square-foot) high-tech learning workshop.

The swiss textiles company Jakob Schlaepfer – well known for its haute couture collections – puts a spell on the Ruckstuhl cafeteria with its all new wall covering collection. The installation featuring a Glinka Güel wall covering was initially launched during the 12th Designers’ Saturday in Langenthal (Switzerland).

Ruckstuhl is sponsoring the exhibition “Your shirt on my chair. Claudio Moser inszeniert von Harry Gugger”. On view May 1 – July 5, 2009 at Kunstmuseum Thun (Switzerland).

Beeing at the epicenter of this year’s fashion week of furniture was an important step for Ruckstuhl. The presence on the fairground in hall 12 of Cosmit was the best possible stage to introduce our latest carpets Crespo Basic, Crespo Custom and Souk to the public.
We also  extended our successful acoustic panelling system Pannello, designed by Matteo Thun, with the addition of two new elements.

• Pannello Tavola is easy to set up on any desk, and also serves as a visual screen. 
• Pannello Paravent stands on two legs, can be enlarged at discretion and is designed for use as an optical room partition.

The optimistic mood at the fair and the great feedback makes us confident for the upcoming events.

Carpet Installation for the Morandini exhibition produced by Ruckstuhl

Italien born designer and architect Marcello Morandini (1940) is currently haveing a great exhibition at Neues Museum Nürnberg, Germany. On view February 13–June 1, 2009.

We recommend you the ongoing «Fashioning Felt» exhibition at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, New York City. On view March 6–September 7, 2009. You will find a beautiful installation of the Ruckstuhl carpet Feltro-Legno.

A gallerist and collector from Mexico City, approached Samuel Anderson Architects prior to purchasing two duplex apartments to test the feasibility of combining them into a single apartment. The resulting 4,520 square foot loft is a formally minimal yet materially rich residential project, providing the client and her guests a tranquil retreat in the heart of SoHo, NYC.

Ruckstuhl wins the prestigious GOOD DESIGNâ„¢ Award for its outstanding Stripes collection in the category ‘FLOOR AND WALL COVERING’ which is conferred annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

Out of nearly 1,300 entries, the finalists were selected by interior designers and architects via an online vote system provided by the Interior Design Magazine. Then a distinguished jury has chosen Legno-Legno 236 the be the ‘BEST OF YEAR 2008′ winner in the category ‘RUG’.

“Net ‘n’ Nest” is the name of Vitra’s office concept, presented at this years Orgatec 2008 in Cologne, Germany.

Zurich-based Alfredo Häberli is one of Switzerland’s most renowned designers. The monograph exhibition at the Museum of Design Zurich presents Häberli’s work for the first time in a museum environment.
